Our Committees

Our Committee’s

Committees for the Oxford chamber exist for the purpose of combining knowledge, expertise, and perspectives of our members to develop goals and timelines for programs and projects that ultimately benefit the entire Oxford business community. They oversee the actions of the committee and make sure that all Chamber policies and procedures are followed. The Oxford Chamber is a member-driven organization. Committees guide the policy priorities and legislative issues that we undertake.

CCR (College Career Readiness) Committee

  • This committee works with Talawanda High School and the Oxford Business community to help students gain knowledge about careers they are interested in.
  • CCR is a required course for graduation at Talawanda. The class consists of mostly juniors and a few seniors. The course begins with them doing tests and research to identify areas of interests that may lead to their future career goals. The teachers gather the career choices and our committee finds people that are willing to attend a planned seminar off campus. The individuals share their career path with a group of students and then talk one on one with students to answer questions regarding the career.
  • There is a fall and spring class and preparation for the seminars begin about two months in advance and attending the 2-3 sessions each quarter are recommended. We normally have the sessions at Miami University, the Community Room and McCullough Hyde Hospital.
  • The feedback from the students, teachers and professionals has been very positive and is a very rewarding experience. Most of the work is contacting your network to have them commit to the event. We have a list of past presenter to use as well.
